COMMUNITY Whakatane Audiology is active within the wider Eastern Bay of Plenty. Whether it is speaking to special interest groups, meeting with General Practitioner's on how better to deliver services to the community or offering free hearing screenings in conjunction with the 'Hear the World' initiative, Scott McLay and his team are recognised for their willingness to give back to their community. HEAR THE WORLD Hear the World is a global initiative by Phonak to raise awareness about the importance of hearing and the consequences of hearing loss – a problem that affects more than 16% of the world’s population. The initiative addresses the social and psychological effects of hearing loss, and provides information on prevention and solutions. Our ability to hear is a fundamental part of our lives, and yet most people take it for granted. Whakatane Audiology partners with Phonak to bring Hear the World to the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
